Chris Smith, OwnerOriginally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Chris Smith graduated from James Madison University in 1992 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Based primarily out of the Washington DC area, Chris worked ten years for American Management Systems (AMS). He served various roles from Programmer to Manager for all AMS’ Internal Computer Support in North America. In 2002, upon learning of Jeff’s interest in McAlister’s Deli, Chris switched careers and became a founding partner in Peak Restaurants LLC. Later, in 2014, he became a partner and Co-President of Arbico East LLC. Chris has fifteen years of restaurant leadership experience, across two different restaurant concepts. Chris is currently a key member of the Culinary Committee for McAlister’s and has been awarded system wide distinctions for his leadership role for the brand. Chris resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife Lisa, four daughters, and one son. Other than spending time with his extensive family, Chris loves to compete in Spartan races and other fitness races. In 2014, he completed, with a team of friends, the Ragnar Relay Race from Miami to Key West. Chris also enjoys spending time working on his family’s farm outside in Vinton, Virginia.
