Roanoke, VA. (March 1, 2019) — Roanoke McAlister's Deli was honored to participate in a great community event in Roanoke on March 1st.
The restaurant provided food for volunteers at the Taubman Museum's Canstruction event, at which teams assembled food-can sculptures. The event was co-sponsored by Feeding America Southwest Virginia, a regional food bank that seeks to eliminate hunger in Southwest Virginia. The food-can sculptures were on display from March 1st until March 17th, when the food was donated to Feeding America SWVA. "The sandwiches were delicious and exactly what the teams needed Friday evening," said Anna Goltz, Feeding America SWVA's Annual Fund and Corporate Relations Officer. "McAlister's played a huge part in making this event a success."
