Knoxville, TN. (January 22, 2018) — McAlister's Deli, along with the Knoxville Chamber, hosted a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at its new location in Fountain City on Monday, January 22, 2018. More than 75 members of the community attended the event.
Local news stations WATE and WBIR covered the event, and several government officials were in attendance, including Tim Burchett, County Mayor; Charles Busler, Carson Dailey, Dave Wright, and Michele Carringer, County Commissioners; Larry Smith, County Commissioner at Large candidate; Lauren Rider, City Councilwoman; George Wallace, City Councilman; Rebecca Longmire, Metropolitan Planning Commission Chair; Sherry Witt, Register of Deeds; Nick McBride, candidate for Register of Deeds; and Ron Green, Knoxville City Police Captain. Participants in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony enjoyed complimentary McAlister’s food, and the first 25 guests in line for the Grand Opening received a free refillable tumbler and a complimentary lunch card. The Fountain City McAlister's is a part of Peak Restaurants, a franchisee of McAlister's Delis in Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. This is Peak Restaurants' twelfth location overall, its seventh location in the Knoxville area.
