March 10, 2021 — Peak Restaurants kicked off the first quarter of the year with three familiar fundraisers that we are happy to participate in each year.
Niswonger Children's Hospital
On March 2, we donated 10% of sales at McAlister's in Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol from 5 p.m. to close to Niswonger.
In total, we raised $1,400—17% more than our donation in 2020.
This remains an important partnership for Peak in the Tri-Cities. Niswonger Children's Hospital provides essential care for children in the region. The hospital's location is convenient for families from all across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, who would other-wise have to travel to receive the same kind of state-of-the-art care.
Rocky Hill Elementary School
On March 9th, we hosted another successful fundraiser for Rocky Hill at Deane Hill McAlister's, raising $750 for the school.
Down Syndrome Awareness
Later in March, we also held a fundraiser for local Down syndrome awareness groups. McAlister’s in the Knoxville area raised $1,700 for the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee in Knoxville; proceeds from the event at Tri-Cities McAlister’s—which raised $732.20—went to FRIENDS, a Down syndrome support group in the Tri-Cities; and McAlister’s in the Virginia Blue Ridge area raised $696.40 for the Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke (DSAR).
In total, Peak raised $3,129.50 for the three local non-profits.
