The Roanoke Chamber of Commerce was on hand to help celebrate the recent remodel of our McAlister's Deli in Roanoke, Virginia on Monday, September 30. General Manager, Louis Hill and Joyce Waugh, President & CEO of the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce gave the opening remarks. A ribbon cutting was also held with local government offices and business members in attendance. After the ribbon cutting, guests enjoyed free tea all day long and the first 25 in line received free tea for a year! Thanks to the Roanoke community for 10 wonderful years. We hope to serve you for at least another 10 years!
Roanoke, VA. (September 19, 2019) — McAlister’s Deli in Roanoke is excited to be celebrate its Grand Reopening on Monday, September 30th, with a tumbler giveaway and free tea! The first 25 guests in line that day will receive a McAlister’s Tumbler and free tea for a year, and every guest that day will receive a free tea.*
McAlister’s Deli is celebrating the recent renovation of its restaurant located at 2063 Colonial Avenue in Towers Shopping Center. The restaurant has been a part of the Roanoke community for more than 10 years, first opening in November 2008, and is looking forward to many more years to serve guests.

*Each of the first 25 guests 18 and older will receive a punch card allowing the holder to receive 1 free tea a week for 52 weeks. All guests on Monday, September 30, 2019 will receive a free 32 oz. glass of Sweet or Unsweet Tea.

Knoxville, TN. (May 16, 2019) — Don Shawl, founding member and Partner of Peak Restaurants, was inducted into the Big Brothers Big Sisters Hall of Fame in Knoxville, TN, at the non-profit’s third annual Hall of Fame Induction and Scholarship Awards Celebration on May 16. Jeff and Missy Shawl accepted the inductee plaque on behalf of Don.
Don was recognized for his exceptional efforts with the charity: He established the Bristol, TN, BBBS agency in the 1980s. He served as the vice-chair of the board of directors and recently funded BBBS-ETN’s literacy based mentoring program, “Reading to Learn.”
“Your passion for youth and mentorship is evident in everything you do,” reads the plaque honoring Don Shawl. “Your deep impact is felt in Bristol and through-out East Tennessee.”
Congratulations, Don, on this much-deserved honor!
