Union Grove Elementary School Teacher Shay Grindstaff Earns Recognition from McAlister's Deli as Outstanding Educator

Alcoa, TN. (June 4, 2020) — To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we asked you to nominate teachers who have had a positive influence in your life and in our community. Today, we announce one of our winners of Outstanding Educator in Alcoa, TN!

Shay Grindstaff at Union Grove Elementary was nominated by Missy Strickland.

"Shay is extra special," said Missy in the nomination. "She not only goes above and beyond but she treats her class like they are hers. She gives when she has nothing, she loves without judgement. She’s is humble and one of the most selfless teachers you will find. Not many [are] like Shay when it comes to her students and learning."

Shay will receive a McAlister's gift card as well as an Outstanding Educator certificate from McAlister's. Congratulations, Shay, and thank you for all you do!
